I am always looking for new models, particularly those that have their own unique style or look. If you have my business card then I have seen you, loved your looks and given you my card in hopes you might consider modeling for me.
So what if I'm considering modeling for you?
Photography is a hobby and passion of mine. I love to photograph beautiful women. I usually do a photo shoot every few weeks. I do not have a permanent studio, so I usually to work out of high end hotels where I can get a roomy suite to shoot in.
As I said, I love to photograph beautiful women. My photography style tends towards glamour work so I usually shoot evening wear, lingerie, swimsuit and artistic nudes. If you are considering modeling for me, please consider what kind of modeling you are comfortable doing. I always respect a model's limits, you just need to decide what you're comfortable doing.
But I don't look like a model…
I am not looking for mass-produced, silicone enhanced, Hollywood blondes… they may be 'beautiful' but there is nothing interesting about the look. I want models with their own unique style; the "girl next door" or "soccer mom" looks are exactly the style I want to photograph.
What if I've never modeled before?
Relax, smile and don't blink at the flash; that is all you need to know to get started. Beyond that, I'll coach you on how to pose, how to set your feet, where to place your hands, etc… All I expect is for you to be serious about posing for me.
Do I have to pose nude?
No. Nor do you have to pose in lingerie if you're uncomfortable with it. You only pose in what you feel beautiful wearing.
Will I be paid?
Yes. I pay by the hour. Rates vary depending upon the model's experience level and what style of modeling (glamour, swimsuit, lingerie or nude) you are doing.
What if I decide I want to try some nude shots?
Then tell me during the shoot and we'll do whatever you are comfortable with. I don't 'pester' or 'push' models to pose nude if they have told me beforehand they are uncomfortable with it. If you change your mind and want to shoot nudes you will need to tell me. And yes, you will be paid accordingly if you decide to shoot nudes.
What will happen to the photos?
I only shoot for fun, so your photos will not be sold or put in print. I typically use a few of the best photos from each shoot for my portfolios on www.creativedistraction.org and www.modelmayhem.com, but have worked with models who asked that no photos be made public and I have honored those wishes.
I have also photographed models that were comfortable posing for both glamour and nude photos, but only wanted me to use their clothed shots for my public portfolios; that's fine too.
Don't be surprised if you've thought of being a centerfold model before but never had the nerve or couldn't allow such photos to be public… I have shot several women who wanted the experience of doing a centerfold-style photo shoot, who wanted the photos to remember their experience, but didn't want the photos made public. I actually enjoy this kind of photoshoot myself… a model living out her centerfold fantasy can be a ton of fun to work with.
Do I get copies?
Yes. I provide electronic copies of the best shots after I have done retouching. I can also provide photo quality prints (I have a professional photo printer).
Can I get a glossy print to frame for my boyfriend / fiancé / husband / significant other?
Absolutely!
Can I use the photos myself?
You can show them to whoever you like or post them wherever you want. If you're building a modeling portfolio I hope you'll use my work in it. The only thing I ask is that you don't sell the photos.
I am nervous about this, how can I trust you?
I will give you references from past models, you can check me out.
Can I bring a friend?
Yes, if you want to bring an escort to the shoot you are welcome to do so. Just let me know in advance so I can plan on having a place for them (things usually get pretty crowded with lights, tripods, camera bags, outfits, etc..)
What will I wear?
I often provide outfits for models (yours to keep after the shoot). Start by letting me know your size and what kind of photography style you are interested in; we can go from there.
What if I have a mole / birthmark / pimple / freckle / etc.. that I hate?
I use Abobe Lightroom and Imagenomic Portraiture to retouch the best photos from every shoot, your complexation in finished shots will be perfect.
